We got there right on time, as Hollow Point was just starting. I guess that these guys would be considered death metal. I was impressed but my friends chose to leave halfway through the performance. I stayed. I am glad that I did. They were really good. The only flaw I noticed was that the drums were a bit off time, although I liked it (I have a thing for crappy music, just ask my friends). They played for about a half hour. I talked to some of the people in the band later, and they agreed to do our magazine release show!

Desperate Cry took about 15 minutes to set up then a guitar string broke, then Buddy, the vocalist could not be found. Once Buddy showed up, John, the drummer disappeared. They ended up starting at about 9, a half-hour after the other band stopped. The first song that really got to me in a good way was a new one called Night of the Creeps. The lyrics made me laugh. I don’t know if they were trying to pull of some Misfits-type lyrics but they were funny as hell. If I could remember some, I would print them. It was a song about brain eating aliens that can only be killed by burning them alive. Suck a cliché, but it was hilarious! Desperate Cry’s drums and guitar are really good. I think this band has a very bright future. These guys also agreed to play the Razor-mag release show.

Imprint… peh. These guys did not impress me at all. They sounded like just another crappy nu-metal band. The crowd seemed to love them but I didn’t. Neither did any one else of the razor-mag staff. I am not trying to be a jerk but I just couldn’t get into it. None of us even bothered to ask them to play our release show.

All in all, it was a fun night.
